DWS Repetoire/Progressive Workshops

What is Repertoire?: Repertoire refers to the body of work belonging to an artist(s). Each month, one of our talented teachers, or a guest teacher will teach a dance piece from a show/movie that they have performed themselves, or been inspired by. Get ready to learn exciting pieces of choreography from famous ballets such as Swan Lake, and Don Quixote, and famous musicals such as Chicago. We will even have our very own “Rockettes Experience” taught by our very own Radio City Rockette. Each piece taught will be choreographed and patterned specifically for those in the class. At the end of the four weeks, the piece will be professionally filmed and edited giving you the opportunity to show off what you have learned. Some choreographers may even have their piece choreographed on location somewhere exciting! Class levels will be “OPEN” catering for beginner to advanced students.

When: Each month we will run a new four week workshop series on Sunday mornings. Each class will run for 90 mins. The first of these series will begin THIS APRIL!!

How it works: These workshops operate independently of the timetable. As such, 10 Class Passes, Free Class Passes, or make up classes cannot be used with these workshops. Each workshop series will require a minimum number of 10 students in order to go ahead, and will have a strict cap on the maximum number of students allowed to attend. Students must register and pay for the full four weeks upfront. Students cannot join part way through the series. This is because each week will progress from the week before, with the teacher choreographing, and patterning a piece with the students in the class, Think of it as learning and rehearsing for a mini showcase.

What an exciting opportunity to learn some of the exciting choreography you have seen on the silver screen, and big stages of the world.
